The Jab-Cross-Left Elbow is an intermediate Muay Thai combination where the elbow is thrown at punching range after the cross closes the distance. It targets the seam of a tight guard with a horizontal or diagonal strike that lands on the same line as a hook.
When the 1-2 pressures the opponent into a tight guard, the lead elbow arrives at the seam. The elbow is thrown at punching range, not clinch range, and becomes available because the cross has already closed the distance. A horizontal or diagonal elbow lands on the same line the hook would, but with a harder, sharper contact point.
